Delivery Terms

Sending flowers or a gift to someone in another city is usually simple. Sending them across borders or to another region can involve more details, including local florists, regional delivery practices, courier handoffs, address formats, and recipient availability.

This page explains how delivery works at MyGlobalFlowers, what information we need from you, and what may happen if delivery details need to be clarified.

How Delivery Works

After an order is placed, we route it to a florist near the recipient's address wherever possible. The florist prepares the bouquet, arrangement, or gift and passes it to a courier for delivery.

Responsibilities are divided clearly:

  • the florist prepares the order and checks it before handover;
  • the courier handles the delivery;
  • the customer provides the recipient details needed to complete delivery;
  • our support team is available if anything needs to be clarified along the way.

Delivery is considered complete when the order is handed to the recipient, accepted by an authorized person, left in a safe location where appropriate, or handled in accordance with local delivery rules.

In practice, delivery does not always mean a direct handover at the recipient's door. If the recipient is unavailable, the courier may leave the order in a safe place, hand it to a neighbor, leave it at reception, or return it to the florist. The best option depends on the location, local rules, and delivery conditions.

For international orders, please note that a fully anonymous surprise delivery is not always possible. In some countries or locations, local practice may require contacting the recipient before arrival. If this is needed, we keep the communication brief and do not reveal the contents of the order where possible.

Delivery Options

Same-Day Delivery

Some products may be available for same-day delivery. Availability depends on the city, product, local florist schedule, recipient address, and the time the order is placed.

The cutoff time is shown on the product page where applicable. Checkout will confirm the delivery options available before you complete the order.

Next-Day Delivery

Not every location supports same-day delivery. Where same-day delivery is not available, next-day delivery may be offered for selected products.

Availability depends on the local partner, product, and recipient address.

Scheduled Delivery

You can select a preferred delivery date at checkout. Most deliveries take place between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time, though a specific delivery hour usually cannot be guaranteed.

If you have a timing preference or special delivery instructions, please add them in the order comments. Couriers and local florists will follow them where possible. Some areas may have more limited delivery options depending on workload, distance, and local conditions.

International Delivery

MyGlobalFlowers delivers to more than 3,500 cities in 89 countries.

For international orders, delivery details are especially important. Please provide:

  • the recipient's full name;
  • a working local phone number in international format;
  • the complete delivery address;
  • apartment, floor, building, or access details where applicable.

If the city in the order does not match the actual delivery location, the order may be delayed, or the delivery cost may need to be reviewed.

Delivery Costs and Extra Charges

The base delivery cost depends on the recipient's address, delivery zone, product, and local delivery conditions.

Remote areas or locations outside the standard service area may require an additional delivery fee. The final delivery cost is calculated once the recipient's address is provided. Additional charges may apply if:

  • the address is incorrect or incomplete;
  • a second delivery attempt is needed;
  • the recipient is unavailable;
  • the address is outside the standard coverage area;
  • the delivery address is changed after the order is placed.

Perishable items, such as bouquets or food baskets, require special handling. Same-day redelivery may require an additional charge. If delivery is moved to another day, a new preparation or delivery fee may apply, depending on the product and local florist conditions.

What We Need from You

Clear recipient details are the best way to prevent delivery problems. At checkout, please include:

  • the recipient's full name;
  • the full delivery address, including apartment, suite, floor, or office number where applicable;
  • a local phone number in international format;
  • building access details if the courier may need them;
  • any delivery preferences or timing notes.

If important information is missing, the courier, florist, or support team may try to contact you or the recipient. If the details cannot be confirmed, delivery may be delayed and the order may return to the florist until the information is clarified.

Product Variations and Substitutions

Product photos show the style and general look of the arrangement, but the exact bouquet may vary. Availability of specific flowers, greenery, packaging, and decorative elements can differ by location, season, and florist stock.

If a specific flower is unavailable, the florist may substitute it with a similar flower without asking first. The replacement should be of equal or greater value and should preserve the overall style, color palette, and feel of the original order as closely as possible.

Gift baskets and add-on items follow a similar approach. Brands or individual items may differ from what is shown, as product availability varies by country and city. The goal is to keep the overall quality and value consistent with the order.

Delivery Issues

Recipient Not Available

If the recipient is unavailable, the courier will choose the most practical option based on the location and local delivery rules. This may include leaving the order in a safe place, handing it to a neighbor, leaving it at reception, or returning it to the florist.

Redelivery may require an additional fee and confirmed recipient availability. In some cases, pickup from the florist may also be possible.

Incorrect or Incomplete Address

If the address is incorrect or incomplete, the courier or support team may try to contact you or the recipient to confirm the correct information.

If the address cannot be confirmed, the order may be returned to the florist. Incorrect or incomplete addresses can cause delays, additional fees, or failed delivery.

Courier Cannot Access the Building

Gates, intercoms, security desks, and building access rules may prevent the courier from reaching the recipient directly.

If access is blocked, the courier may try to contact the sender or recipient. If no one can be reached, the order may be returned to the florist. Adding entry instructions to the order comments is the best way to help avoid this issue.

Special Delivery Situations

Some delivery locations require extra details or may follow their own internal rules. This is especially common for hotels, hospitals, medical facilities, offices, gated buildings, and locations with restricted access.

Before placing an order to a hotel or medical facility, we recommend confirming that the location accepts flowers, gifts, or courier deliveries.

For these deliveries, please provide complete recipient details, such as room number, department, reservation name, local phone number, or reception instructions where applicable.

If the location refuses the delivery, the recipient cannot be confirmed, or access is restricted, delivery may be delayed, or the order may be returned to the florist. Redelivery may require updated details and an additional fee.

For more detailed information, please refer to our Hotel and Hospital Delivery rules.

Holidays and Peak Dates

Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas, and other major holidays can create high demand across the florist and courier network.

Orders placed in advance have a better chance of being delivered on the selected date. Last-minute delivery may still be available, but options can be more limited during peak periods.

Some regions may also follow local business schedules, holidays, or midday closing hours. Delivery in those areas follows local florist availability and courier schedules.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time will my order be delivered?

Most deliveries take place between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time. A specific hour usually cannot be guaranteed, but you can add a timing preference in the order comments.

Can I change the delivery date or time after ordering?

If you need to change delivery details after placing the order, please contact support as soon as possible. Changes may be possible before preparation or dispatch, depending on the order status and local florist availability.

What if the recipient is not available?

The courier will choose the most practical option based on the location. This may include leaving the order safely, handing it to a neighbor, leaving it at reception, or returning it to the florist. Redelivery may require an additional fee.

Is delivery guaranteed on special occasions?

We aim to deliver on the selected date, but delivery may be affected by local conditions, peak demand, address accuracy, recipient availability, and courier routes. Ordering in advance gives the best chance of on-time delivery.

What happens if I entered the wrong address?

The courier or support team may try to confirm the correct address before returning the order. If the address cannot be confirmed, the order may return to the florist. Correcting the address and arranging redelivery may require an additional fee.

Do you contact the recipient before delivery?

Not as a rule. We keep surprise deliveries discreet where possible. However, in some countries or locations, a pre-delivery call may be standard practice. If contact is needed, we keep the communication brief and do not reveal the contents of the order where possible.

Can the courier leave the order at the door?

Yes, if the location appears safe and local delivery rules allow it. If the courier cannot leave the order safely, they may choose another practical option or return the order to the florist.

Can I send flowers to another country?

Yes. MyGlobalFlowers delivers to more than 3,500 cities worldwide. Product availability, delivery options, and timelines depend on the destination.
