Flower Delivery Nicosia

What you need to know before sending flowers to Nicosia

Flower delivery in Nicosia follows a few local rules worth knowing before you check out. Cyprus sits in the Eastern European Time zone (EET), which runs 7 hours ahead of EST. A noon deadline in Nicosia equals 5:00 AM EST. Keep that gap in mind.

• ✓Same-day orders require placement before 12:00 PM Nicosia time (5:00 AM EST).
• ✓Next-day orders accept placement until 11:59 PM EST.
• ✓Sunday delivery costs an extra $5–$10 depending on the arrangement.
• ✓Public holidays like Greek Cypriot National Day (April 1) may shift delivery windows by one day.

Nicosia florists typically deliver between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM local time. You can add a preferred time window at checkout, but exact-hour scheduling is not available on same-day orders.

Types of flowers available for delivery in Nicosia

Roses

Roses remain the top seller for flower delivery in Nicosia. The catalog offers red, white, pink, peach, and lavender roses in counts of 11, 25, 51, and 101 stems. A classic bouquet of 25 red roses costs around $55. Florists in Nicosia source long-stem Ecuadorian roses that measure 50–60 cm.

Lilies

Lilies work well for sympathy arrangements and formal occasions. A standard lily bouquet contains 5–9 stems and costs between $40 and $65. Oriental lilies carry a strong fragrance — mention any allergy concerns in the order notes so the florist can adjust the mix.

Mixed bouquets and seasonal blooms

Mixed bouquets combine 3–5 flower varieties. Spring arrangements often feature tulips, ranunculus, and freesia. Summer bouquets lean on sunflowers and gerbera daisies. The florist selects the freshest stems available that morning, so exact flower types may vary slightly. Seasonal bouquets start at $38.

Flower gift sets

Gift sets pair a bouquet with chocolates, a stuffed toy, or a bottle of wine. A roses-and-Ferrero-Rocher combo runs about $70. A bouquet-plus-wine set averages $85. These sets save you from placing two separate orders.

How to choose the right bouquet for Nicosia

Flower choice in Nicosia depends on the occasion and the relationship. Here is a quick comparison to guide your decision:

Avoid sending chrysanthemums for happy occasions. In Cypriot culture, chrysanthemums carry funeral and mourning associations. Stick with roses, lilies, or colorful mixed arrangements for celebrations.

Common mistakes when sending flowers to Nicosia

Many first-time senders trip on the same errors. Avoid these:

• Forgetting the 7-hour time difference between EST and Nicosia — a 2:00 PM EST order misses the same-day cutoff.
• Skipping the recipient's phone number — Nicosia couriers call ahead to confirm availability.
• Choosing white flowers for a birthday — white carries somber connotations in Cypriot tradition.
• Listing a P.O. box instead of a street address — florists deliver only to physical locations.

Double-check the delivery address format. Nicosia uses street name followed by building number, then postal code (four digits, such as 1010 for central Nicosia).

How to keep flowers fresh after delivery

Share these tips with your recipient so the bouquet lasts longer:

• Trim 1–2 cm off each stem at a 45-degree angle before placing the flowers in water.
• Change the vase water every 2 days and add the provided flower food packet.
• Keep the bouquet away from direct sunlight and air conditioning vents.
• Remove wilted petals daily to prevent bacteria from spreading to healthy stems.
• Store the vase in a cool room — Nicosia summers push indoor temperatures above 86 °F (30 °C), so air-conditioned rooms extend bloom life by 3–4 days.
